About Us

Hello!

My name is Daniela Garza Martinez and I am a native Spanish speaker born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. I am currently a senior at St. Mary's University completing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Minor in English Literature. Initially, I wanted to major in Foreign Languages. However, since no universities in the area offered that degree, I enrolled in as many language classes as possible. This let me to achieve proficiency levels A2 in French and A1 in German. On top of this, I earned a Certificate in Spanish Language to connect with my Hispanic roots; however, it has also proven incredibly useful, as it is now of great value professionally.

What inspired the creation of Calliope?

I am an aspiring law student who wishes to practice immigration law. Due to my keen interest in immigration, I interned at multiple immigration law firms; this led me to my current position as a legal assistant in a San Antonio, Texas law firm. There, I frequently assisted the attorney and her clients by translating immigration-related documents sent to USCIS and other government agencies. After a few months of providing this assistance, my boss suggested I launch the business. I had always hoped to start a business but believed I would have to wait until I opened my future law firm. I got the ball rolling, put together a few savings, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I look forward to working with you!
